Hello you lovely lot.
As a gal who’s always loved the cosy little shops you find hidden away on bustling streets, I’ve decided to share with you my favourite small businesses. From artwork to jewellery to books, I’m so excited to show you all the most wonderful businesses I’ve found so far.
Today we’re starting with cards. Anyone who knows me knows that for years I have LOVED cards- greeting cards, postcards, mini cards and everything in between! For those of you who don’t know, cards always remind me of my Mumma. Ever since I was a little girl she had this big box full of cards for every occasion and it was like a little treasure chest of wonders for me. Whenever it was one of my close friend’s birthday or a special occasion that needed a card, she said I could go and pick a card from the box and I would spend a lifetime going through them all, admiring each one and picking out my favourites. Now my gorgeous mum isn’t around anymore and I still can’t bring myself to hand out the rest of the cards in her box, I’ve started my own little collection. I still love picking out my favourite cards for my friends from my own box, but I also want to start a collection for my own children one day, so they can have the same magic feeling I once had.
Basically, I just love cards and the fact that someone can keep a piece of writing from you safely in a pretty design is beautiful. So here are some of my absolute favourite companies and I hope you can discover some lovely talented guys and gals!
For the cutest hand-illustrated greeting cards around, check out Amelia’s adorable range! These are just a few of her completely stunning designs
I can’t even describe how utterly gorgeous and unique Amy Heitman’s range of greeting cards are. From the babiest blues to the prettiest pinks, she’s definitely a firm fave
Card Nest has been one of my most-loved card companies for a while now, including artists such as Leah Quinn and David Robinson. Their mini cards are some of my absolute favourites and they have some of the sweetest sayings
A fairly recent discovery but oh my goodness- loooook at these stunning designs! I love anything with neutrals, pink, words of love and cute little boob sketches, and Dahlia Press ticks all the boxes
As you can see, I struggled to choose just a select few of Jade’s cards! They are all so beautiful and different from any other greeting card businesses I’ve seen
Whenever I spot Katie Housley’s stunning designs out and about, I’m always so tempted to buy the whole collection. Her designs are simply wonderful and have something for everyone
(the Cherished collection)
If you’re one of my gorgeous pen pals, you’ve most likely received one of these gorgeous cards at some point! I love Lagom Design, but their Cherished collection is my absolute fave
Simple, but super pretty, Oh Squirrel is one of those brands that just makes you feel good. The range pictured is my favourite and comes in postcard form too, but they have so many other lovely designs!
OLD ENGLISH CO.
Another company who has been near the top of my list for best cards around for a long time! Old English Co. do some incredibly gorgeous but also super fun designs
RAMONA & RUTH
For those of you looking for more minimalist designs, Ramona & Ruth is perfect for you. Their muted colours and creative patterns are so dreamy
RED CAP CARDS
(the collection by Daren Thomas Magee)
For those retro-lovers out there, this particular collection is for you. I only discovered Red Cap Cards recently but they’re super beautiful in their own way and have a tonne of different styles to choose from
RIFLE PAPER CO.
I love Sadler Jones as a brand and the fact I am now a brand ambassador for them is so exciting! Their designs are so super cute and a firm favourite in my collection
So there we have it! Some of my absolute favourite small card businesses. Of course I could’ve listed a few more that always catch my eye, but these are the companies I find myself returning to the most.
